Seventy- Two hours in Barcelona

For first timers at Barcelona, an unplanned trip to Barcelona can result in an incomplete justice, which might just be an injustice to the city itself. Hence, a weekend trip should have a plan A and a plan B, just in case. There are plenty of places that are truly worth seeing and some plain exaggerated. Here is a 3 day or 72 hour itinerary for a wholesome trip to Barcelona.
Plan an itinerary based on your interests. There are places of varied interest ranging from the pristine beaches to the architectural wonders.

Day 1: Starting with the Plazas
The best place to take in the essence of the Barcelonan culture is the Las Ramblas. Of course, buying anything at that place is not a great idea, unless you want to be ripped off. You can find some of the most creative bars and pubs, street vendors and performance artists. There are lots of restaurants but they are costly.

Alternatively, you can begin your with Plaça de Catalunya, the northern part of Las Ramblas. It is just same as the Ramblas. Plaza of Sant Jaume was once the city center, until it lost its favour to Ramblas.
For the evening you can hang out in one of the many themed pubs. For an informal lunch at Els Quatre Gats is a good choice. For a luxurious lunch, Bari Gotic would be an ideal choice. For the evening, go to the Cathedral to look at the lovely architecture.
Dinner can be had at Bari Gotic or El born. Avoid Las Ramblas for food or shopping. Hang out in the pubs for a leisurely after dinner smoke or drink.

Day 2: Exploring the Modern Side of it
Spend day 2 looking at the new age Barcelona in Plaza of Catalan. Another famous tourist attraction is the artistic works of Antoni Gaudi. This will take about half a day. Rambla de Catalunya is perfect for a luncheon stop. You will find new age cuisines with a traditional touch. Visit the numerous museums in the evening. If you are in mood for late night fun, try the foam parties.

Day 3: Exploring the history
Picasso museum for the morning and Park Guell for the afternoon, followed by a visit to one of the fine cafés is the best way to end day 3 and with that your .
